INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

The convergence of collaborative constructivist ideas and instructional technology are transforming education systems all over the world. Instructional technology broadens the scope of education beyond textbooks and the integration of ICT in the teaching and learning process recognises the need to have a seamless flow between learning at school, at home, at work and at play.

AMS has a well-equipped computer lab where students are introduced to the use of computer through educational Presentations/Audios/Videos. We follow a computer course which is student friendly and allows them to enjoy working on their assignments individually. By the end of Class 8, our students have developed skills such as touch typing, word processing, spreadsheets, power point presentations and databases.

Our younger learners enjoy Math, English and Science related activities which enhance their classroom curriculum in these subjects. This class not only allows student to learn a skill to be useful in practical life, they also enjoy exploring and working in a relax environment.

CURRICULUM

Students and their experiences are at the heart of Azeemi Model School and this vision defines our ambitions. Students deserve a high quality education with an accessible and innovative curriculum. We believe that education should enhance students’ abilities to explore and question the nature of phenomena in the world around them.

For all school years we provide a knowledge and skills-based curriculum framework. Our curriculum builds a sound foundation for future learning. The curriculum delivery methodology in the classrooms encourages a student-centred approach. Our expectation, therefore, is that when students have completed their school studies, they do not have just a mastery of content but are also able to analyse, look at texts critically, make connections between subjects, and write effectively. With such skill sets and values as our students will be valued highly by universities and employers in Pakistan and abroad.

AMS curriculum documents for various subjects adopt a skills-based approach to teaching and learning. The curriculum, as such, is spiral in nature, i.e. the same concepts and skills will be taught at various times across the grades, but with increasing levels of complexity and sophistication as we move up.

EARLY YEAR’S EDUCATION

Early years of education represent the unfolding of life; it is the foundation for future learning and success. AMS is committed to ensure early years’ experience to be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure. We aim to provide richness and quality of the experiences to contribute child’s development as a lifelong learner through consistent expert support.

Our beliefs:

  • Children are whole people who have feelings, ideas and relationships and need to be physically, mentally, morally and spiritually healthy.
  • Young children learn in a holistic and an integrated manner, not in separate and compartmentalized way.
  • Play is the child’s work and focus for learning. Children in the Early Years learn by playing and exploring, and being active through creative and critical thinking.
  • Imagination, creativity and all kinds of symbolic behaviours develop and emerge when conditions are favourable.

Quality Early Years Education is about three things: the child, the context in which learning takes place and the knowledge and understanding which the child develops and learns.

Characteristics of TCS Early Years Educational programme:

  1. A safe and secure environment to meets children’s needs.
  2. A place with lot of activity which stretches and challenges all children. At their learning places, children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates, and that all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
  3. A balance between teacher-initiated and child-initiated activities.
  4. Equal emphasis is given to social and emotional development as much on academic achievement.
  5. EYE practitioners exhibit commitment, alertness, enthusiasm and reflective practices, possessing breadth and depth of knowledge, skills and understanding of the diverse ways in which children learn.
  6. Ongoing observational assessment to inform planning for each child’s continuing development.
  7. A place where involvement of parents is always encouraged and valued.

Learning Areas of Development:

  1. Personal, Social and Emotional Development;
  2. Communication, Language and Literacy;
  3. Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy;
  4. Knowledge and Understanding of the World;
  5. Physical Development;

OVERVIEW

The title Azeemi Model School suggests one school – where children are encouraged to take pride in their culture, yet through school environment a uniform set of acceptable values are instilled in them. Indeed, the education that the School provides, with its politically liberal ethos, enables its pupils to integrate within their home communities in Pakistan and in the countries and communities abroad.

Azeemi Model School maintains a balance of western and Asian best practice and, by so doing, provides a curriculum meeting the needs of children and young people in the modern world. Our philosophy aims to encourage students, in the best learning environments we are able to provide, to be confident, articulate, aware and actively engaged with the world around them. We want them to achieve their maximum academic and social potential, to be engaged and responsive learners – in other words, to be the best they can be. At the same time, the education we provide must enable our students to respond positively to the opportunities and challenges of the rapidly changing world – including the need to make the best of what they know and to keep on learning.

Our students today need to be prepared to engage with economic change including the continued globalisation of the economy and society and with the rapid expansion of communication technologies. Our education must also reaffirm our commitment to the traditional values – to the virtues of truth, justice, honesty, trust and a sense of duty.
