At AMS, we emphasize continuous assessment throughout the year based on assignment/class tests, bimonthly tests, term exams and final exam.

First Term
- 1st Monthly Test: Third Week of April
- Term Exam: Last Week of May
Second Term
- 2nd Monthly Test: Third Week of August
- Term Exam: Last Week of September
Third Term
- 3rd Monthly Test: Third Week of November
- Term Exam: Last Week of December
RULES FOR EXAM
The syllabus for each term exam will cover the entire syllabus covered prior to the commencement of the exam for the respective term.
The question papers of the final exam for each subject will be set approximately from 10%, 20%, and 70% of the syllabus covered in 1st term, 2nd term and 3rd term, respectively.
No student will be retested in annual examination except in case of genuine absence on account of circumstances beyond the control of the student/parents and sickness of the student on provision of medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner. Parents are required to inform the school about student’s absence in advance in writing.
Grace marks “5” for single subject as well as for aggregate marks in case the student who is failing by “5” marks in the subject or in aggregate.
All term exams / annual exam will be conducted according to the date sheet prepared and issued in advance.
No student will be allowed to leave the exam center before half of the given time has passed.
All cheating cases, as soon as detected, will be reported to the principal for necessary action.
PROMOTION POLICY
- All students from the Play Group will be promoted. The teacher, however, indicate the specific strength and weaknesses of the students in the assessment report.
- All students (except Play Group) must secure 45% marks in all subjects for becoming eligible for promotion to the next higher class.
- A student who has failed only one subject (at least 30% marks) with 45% aggregate marks, can be conditionally promoted to the next class, provided his/her parents give an undertaking that the student will be demoted, if he fails in the First Term exam of next class.
- There will be no double promotion or promotion on conditional basis.
- The student who fails to meet the promotion policy will be detained. Warnings will be given to weak students during the bimonthly reports.
- Student’s progress or the lack of it will be discussed with the parents in the PTM. These warning will prepare the student for a detention in case no progress is made.
RESULTS
The Class Teacher shall enter the record of all Continuous Assessments, 1st Term, 2nd Term and 3rd Term Examination on the prescribed Forms. It will contain:
- Continuous Assessment based on Class Work, Oral Work & Projects.
- Bimonthly Assessment Test Results
- First Term Examinations
- Second Term Examinations
- Final Examinations
The Consolidated Result at the end of the Academic year will decide:
- Recommendation for promotion
- Position in the class
- Academic prizes / certificates
- Subject prizes for every class (one only)
- Special certificate for social works.
Certificates of Honor (Merit / Excellence) will be awarded for:
- Attendance
- Co-curricular activities
- Progress in academics
- Conduct
- Crises management
Examination Result Cards are sent/handed over to the parents after every exam. These cards contain detailed reports on the academic performance in various subjects in the class, the curricular and co-curricular activities as well as development of their personality traits.
